The way ahead for Little Master

The cricket journey of Sachin Tendulkar from a little master to the God of cricket, from 1989 to 2012 has reached such a height that is more than the height of Everest. It is probably wrong to compare with Everest because people have already reached to the top of the Everest. I seriously doubt anybody reaching to the height of the records of Mr Sachin Tendulkar. Few of numerous ODI records of the Numero Uno are below:

• Matches played: 463 (most by any player)
• Most Runs: 18,426 runs at an average of 44.83
• Most centuries: 49
• Most Fifties: 96
• Most Man of the Match awards: 62
• Most Man of the Series awards: 15
• Most ODI runs in a calendar year: 1,894 ODI runs in 1998.
• Most Centuries in a calendar year: 9 ODI centuries in 1998.
• Longest career span: 22 years 91 days.
• Highest number of consecutive matches: 185 (Between April 1990 and April 1998)
• Only player ever to cross the 18,000 run mark.
• The first batsman to score a double century in ODIs (200* against South Africa at Gwalior on Feb 24, 2010).
• The first players to complete the all-round treble of 10000 runs, 100 wickets and 100 catches.
• The only player to have made three scores of 175 or more.
• Most scores in 90s: 18 (including one not out innings).

He retires from ODI cricket and only the God knows the future. Nobody wants him to retire from cricket. His retirement from ODI was shocking for each Indian; tears came in the eyes of the many fans of him within the seconds of hearing the news, the thousands of cricket lovers promised not to watch ODI matches. Thousands of comments on the social media sites were expressed by thousands of fans of the little master. Of course, he has not given adieu to the cricket but the big question is what he should do further in his future from now and after the adieu from the cricket as a player. As an Indian citizen, I hope I can express my feelings and thoughts freely. As per my little knowledge, I have listed few things what he can do further. Of course, I beg apologies from him and all readers if I have mentioned something wrong or skipped something that ought to be in the following list: • Become a cricket coach for any international team.
• Become a part of the BCCI probably in the selection committee or any important position which can contribute to the Indian Cricket.
• Concentrate on the politics as he has already stepped into the upper house (Rajya Sabha) of the parliament. He is the best person to understand the importance of sports for the country, needs in terms facilities, training, inspirations, and support to the sports (not only cricket but all types of sports). Therefore he should concentrate on the same from the Upper House.
• Start a sports club country-wide to develop the sports persons of the country, finding out the hidden talents, providing them the platform to grow. It will be major contribution to the country as a legendary player.
• Start social services by association with various social ventures in bringing awareness to the common people in the field of education, health, environment, safety, care for women, child and so on.
• The last but not the least, a business probably related to sports or any other.

Apart from all the above mentioned, the industry will never allow him to be away from being an brand ambassador. In his 23 years of ODI cricket career and the remaining cricket career he gains so much of respect, fame both nationally and internationally. The records will be cherished for ever, few of the records may be broken in next decade but sure not all. He should take the well thought path ahead which will increase the respect and fame further. We all Indians, all cricket lovers around the world, all the sports persons salute him and wish him and his family a great future. Jai Hind.
