Bhubaneswar:
Dr. Kiran Bedi, Retd. IPS & Eminent Social Activist of the country unveiled
the statue of Swami Vivekananda on VISWASS's 11th Foundation Day on 03rd March
2014. Dr. Bedi the Chief Guest addressed the august gathering, graced the
occasion with presence of the National youth, participating from various
colleges of the state. Social Work students of VISWASS welcomed Dr. Bedi in
Biju Patanaik International Airport, Bhubaneswar at 01:20 PM followed by
inauguration of statue at 03:00 PM in Pittapali campus of VISWASS which is
situated at N.H-5, Khordha. The Chairperson, Smt.Pratima Gharai, Secretary,
VISWASS, Prof. L.N. Panda Principal , Principal of +2 Science college, Head Of
Social Work Department and Head of F&M Deaprtment were on the gala day. Mr.
Antony Mathew proposed the vote of thanks.
VISWASS
is offering three master programs (MSW. M.Sc. Nursing & MFC), four under
graduate programs like B.Tech, B.Sc (Nursing), BSW, BBA and + 2 Science. The
basic foundations of VISWASS academic edifice are Yoga, Development of
Communication ability, Life management by Chinmay mission and computer
education.
Besides,
academic assignments, VISWASS is organizing time and again various extra
curriculum activities for general public in and around Bhubaneswar. As a part
of field work practiculum, College of Social work organizes different social
work related activities for the needy people in, community, slum, city in the
field of natural calamity like flood, cyclone, youth welfare, old age
counseling, awareness etc. A team of highly qualified and committed faculty not
only provide academic inputs to the students but also are engaged in research
and consultancy services in action programs and policy issues of Social work
department in close collaboration with government, non-government, donor
agencies, cooperative organizations as well as other civil society groups to
explore new social reforms.
All the
Students are highly placed in different Govt. Corporate and National and
International NGO sectors.
